Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Posted June 5, 2002 There is a site (opendirectory.net) that claims for a yearly fee they can list you in the odp data. I am almost positive this is not true, but wanted the official word on this. I think what they would do is add sites to their odp site but not the full directory.
Guest Posted June 5, 2002 Posted June 5, 2002 dmoz.org is not the same as opendirectory.net and are not run by the same people at all. ODP intends to always be a free resource. See http://dmoz.org/socialcontract.html
Guest liftarn Posted June 7, 2002 Posted June 7, 2002 They can list you at opendirectory.net (that they run), but they can't get you listed at dmoz.org (and all the other that are using ODP data). It looks somewhat like a scam in that they try to give the impression of they can get you listed at dmoz.org
Guest WLauzon Posted June 7, 2002 Posted June 7, 2002 I see the Netscape lawyers got in touch with him - he has changed his page /images/icons/smile.gif
Guest Posted June 7, 2002 Posted June 7, 2002 Or maybe it's because that guy isn't an editor any more...
