jonathanpark Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 Hi, Base on this url http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/On_the_Web/Weblogs/Personal/T/ I found 2 different urls but redirected to the same url (The content of the site is exactly the same.) Tim Yang: The Edge - Tim Yang's blog. The travelogue of an Asian guy. Includes the Put Up a Blogger campaign. Tim's Journal - The thoughts and adventures of a guy trying to get through life. After hours, he's a muay thai fighter and body builder. During the day, he's an ad agency copywriter. I believe the webmaster is trying to fool the dmoz editor. In my opinion, webmasters that intend to cheat/fool the dmoz editors should get their url delisted from the directory. (penalty) Anyway, i hope the editors should take an action and rereview these sites.
timyang Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 No fraud intended Hi I'm the webmaster of both those urls listed in the earlier message. Please allow me to explain. The blog hosted on Blogspot was my blog from 4 years ago. The redirect is using a javascript not a metatag or htaccess (don't think search engines read javascript, right?) and was only intended to move my human readers from back then to my new URL. I forgot about it until now and I would remove it, but there's now some error with the Blogger control panel for the really old blogs and I can't access it any more. Please do remove timyang.blogspot.com from the Dmoz. It hasn't been current for four years. The one at timyang.com is still very much current.
