Meta pvgool Posted August 11, 2005 Meta Posted August 11, 2005 Did you read http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10705 Based on all the wrong and misleading postings you have been making here at R-Z I doubt you have done so. To me it looks like you didn't read anything about DMOZ. IMHO it is essential to understand DMOZ before appying to be an editor. But I don't review applications. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
Baz9276 Posted August 12, 2005 Author Posted August 12, 2005 I have, but I think that I should of got A reply by now.
Baz9276 Posted August 12, 2005 Author Posted August 12, 2005 What does this mean what I got in email? I understand what It means but does it mean that if I re-apply I will be an editor or something? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for your interest in becoming an Open Directory Project editor! Although we would like you to join us as a volunteer editor, you have chosen a category that is already well represented, or is broader than we typically assign to a new editor. We would encourage you to re-apply for a category that has fewer editors or is smaller in scope, in order to increase your chances of being accepted. Feel free to reapply by submitting an application in another area. If you wish to re-apply, you must fill out another application. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I did not put in the FULL email message for safety reasons
donaldb Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 It means that your application was rejected because the category that you selected already has more than enough editors working on it or is too large for a new editor. Usually it is because the category is too large for a new editor. Select a small category.
Baz9276 Posted August 12, 2005 Author Posted August 12, 2005 Oh, I selceted one for.. FREE host's will I be accepted? So, if it was less editor's I would off been accepted? Ahhh!
Meta pvgool Posted August 12, 2005 Meta Posted August 12, 2005 No. Every application will be reviewed again. Based on this new application the reviewing editor will decide if you are accepted or not. Further more it would be very helpfull if you 1) kept all questions about your applications in 1 thread, see also http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40375 2) you read all faq and other information on both R-Z and DMOZ, if you don't understand something ask in the apropriate section of R-Z 3) stop making postings at R-Z that are totaly wrong and/or misleading, it only demonstrates your lack of knowledge about DMOZ I also advice you to read any other reasons given in the rejection mail. My guess is that this was not the only reason given. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
Baz9276 Posted August 12, 2005 Author Posted August 12, 2005 ok, ok. I shall read the FAQ. Rules and the others then, I shall be kindly PATIENT. Then i'll see what happens.
Meta pvgool Posted August 12, 2005 Meta Posted August 12, 2005 See also http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40382 I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.

Baz9276 Posted August 20, 2005 Author Posted August 20, 2005 Editor application status I cant remmember what category but my username was called abc123ben.
Meta pvgool Posted August 20, 2005 Meta Posted August 20, 2005 You have been asked several times to 1) keep all your postings in 1 thread [added] the threads have been merged [/added] 2) to read the guidelines Wait a minimum of 14 days after the day that you first submitted your application to start a thread here asking about its status. Based on your previous postings I'm sure your application was made less than 14 days ago. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
brmehlman Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 One thread per topic, please. If you don't know the category, we aren't likely to be able help with the status. my username was called abc123ben I can say that changing your username from one application to another is not likely to get you accepted.
