Guest slashroot Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 Hi, I was wondering whether anyone could tell me the status of my submission: http://www.fixservices.com Thanks Bob
John_Caius Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 Please provide a clickable link to the category where you submitted it. When did you submit?
Guest slashroot Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 I may have entered submitted it to the wrong directory. Is it ok to re-submit to correct directory? Will there be a penalty or rejection? I believe it entered it to this: http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Customer_Service/ But I'm not exactly sure. I didn't save the page where it was submitted to. But should be here: http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Companies/Software_Development/
Meta hutcheson Posted April 30, 2003 Meta Posted April 30, 2003 My personal opinion is that submitting to the wrong category causes editor effort and listing delays. If you later realize that there was a better category and submit there, you may actually save editor effort (if the correct category is reviewed first) and shorten the wait for review. Of course, if you do this more than several times, you're getting into "stupid spammer" territory. But once probably helps both you and us. Caveat: I really don't know how many other editors would agree with this.
Meta kokopeli Posted April 30, 2003 Meta Posted April 30, 2003 <<<Caveat: I really don't know how many other editors would agree with this. >>> I absolutely agree, it saves time in the long run if the correct category is submitted to to correct an error previously made. As mentioned above, there is of course a difference between making a mistake once and those who spam numerous categories in hopes of a listing bonanza. <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" /> If you do that, trust me--we can tell who you are.
