I have nearly finished a bottle of port (Noval Nacional 1987, good but not great, and needing another chunky fraction of a decade) and so am slightly worse for wear. This evening, like so many recent evenings, is being spent designing a decanter: a decanter for a drinker and a drunk, not for looks. This is not an easy task.
