Happy New Year Ultra150s Sorry for offending you, editor motsa, by wishing happy new year for all editors and staff. You didn't have to wreck my post when you edit it by leaving an open a tag for and taking my hyperlink away. I will rephrase it this way; I will take the opportunity to wish all editors (Except motsa) and dmoz staff a very... Happy New Year Thank You!
Meta nea Posted January 13, 2006 Meta Posted January 13, 2006 Your good wishes are appreciated, ultra. (And I'm removing the link from your pseudo-signature since we have a policy not to allow those in this forum. Which is presumably what motsa did, also, for the same reason.) Ultra150s Posted January 13, 2006 Author Posted January 13, 2006 Your good wishes are appreciated, ultra. (And I'm removing the link from your pseudo-signature since we have a policy not to allow those in this forum. Which is presumably what motsa did, also, for the same reason.) Hi nea and thank you for answering me. When reading the posts in different forums here, some will show a site on the signature, and some on the post content. Example: http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41831 . I originally mentioned my site's location in the post's content as: <edited> , just as I saw them in others posts but it got deleted too. I don't understand why. I'm just trying to learn and undestand the rules here. I did look in the "Posts guidelines" and I didn't see any restriction for hyperlinks. All I could fine was, quote: "Hypertext links If you type in anything beginning with "http://", the Forum software will make everything from that until the next space into a hypertext link. Readers can click on the link to see what you are referring to. However, this also means you don't want to type http://dmoz.org, as that comma will be converted into part of the link, and will lead nowhere. Leave a space before and after any hyperlinks before punctuation". Could you, please, direct me to more info about it? I never break rules on purpose... Well, there maybe exceptions some time. Thanks
motsa Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 Sorry for offending you, editor motsa, by wishing happy new year for all editors and staff. If your message had offended me, I would have deleted it completely, wouldn't I. You didn't have to wreck my post when you edit it by leaving an open a tag for and taking my hyperlink away.My abject apologies for having so totally destroyed your message by leaving a stray unclosed tag -- I shall go kill myself immediately. I will take the opportunity to wish all editors (Except motsa) and dmoz staff a very...How sweet. I originally mentioned my site's location in the post's content as: <edited> , just as I saw them in others posts but it got deleted too. I don't understand why.We disabled signatures for non-editors because people were abusing the privilege. This forum is not here to be an advertising vehicle -- including a link to your site in a post where it is irrelevant (such as in this thread) or under your name in the form of a pseudo-signature will result in us deleting or at least de-hyperlinking that portion of the post (as I did originally and as nea did in your second post and as it appears hutcheson had to do in your last post).
