Meta chris2001 Posted January 23, 2006 Meta Posted January 23, 2006 Hello, ODP´s editor community has decided to publish regular reports in future, to inform the public about the development of the project. You can find the announcement and a link to the first report in the thread Inside the ODP: ODP Reports If you have questions about the content of the report, feel free to use this thread to ask Please keep in mind, though, that the reports are... well... reports, no policy papers Questions about the meaning of the data in the report are welcome, suggestions what further research might provide interesting insights will certainly be read - but please do not expect editors to discuss directory policy in the reports or in this thread. Discussions if and how status data should affect directory policy, or discussions which data we publish why when and how, run in the non-public editor forums at dmoz.org. Thank you. chris2001 ODP volunteer admin
john_a Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Reports generate "Cannot find server" error I've been trying to access the reports but keep getting a "Cannot find server" error page. Is this a consequence of the current ODP technical problems? Regards, John
Meta chris2001 Posted December 14, 2006 Author Meta Posted December 14, 2006 The reports have been moved to http://freenet-homepage.de/miscellanea/odp_reports/index.html for the time being
john_a Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 The reports have been moved to http://freenet-homepage.de/miscellanea/odp_reports/index.html for the time being Thank you Chris. It's clear that the current technical problems aren't a barrier to creative solutions. Which led to the next - blue sky - thought: :icon_idea I have 5GB storage and +/- 150 GB bandwidth available online (pre-paid) on two separate web sites and won't be using these resources for at least a year. I'd be very happy to make these resources available to the ODP on a temporary basis - free of charge - if it would help in any way while the current technical difficulties remain unsolved. If yes, give me a shout and I'll discuss the technical side with my hosting provider. Regards, John
motsa Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 The offer is very much appreciated but I'm sure that we have more than enough space and bandwidth to cover the things we can put up (which really isn't that much in any case) while the technical difficulties are being resolved.
