Guest kevin Posted May 9, 2003 Posted May 9, 2003 Hi, Our website (kazooma.com) has evolved! Once web designers, we have now created and become a search engine. We requested that our listing in ODP be moved to a suitable 'search engine' category (via 'Update URL') some time ago - but we still reside in: "Computers: Internet: Web Design and Development: Designers: Dynamic and Multimedia: K" Could do with getting this updated along with the site description as the link is currently out of date. Anyone let us know what's happening with this? Seems to have gone very quiet last few months... Many thanks for your help, kazooma.com
Meta kokopeli Posted May 10, 2003 Meta Posted May 10, 2003 Please continue using the existing thread [edited to add] please ignore my post above, other thread exists in Submissions forum.
motsa Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 You're right that your site doesn't belong where it was listed...it's been removed. However, your search engine is just using ODP data from a copy of the RDF, without giving proper attribution. As such, it isn't listable. Now, if you fix that up and fulfill the license agreement to the letter, you might get listed in Sites Using ODP Data but that's the only place you could potentially be listed.
Guest kevin Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 All done - I'll submit to the category you suggested. Thanks for the help.
motsa Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 Unfortunately, I don't see how you're going to be able to comply with the license agreement. Since you're don't actually display the category structure, the links in the attribution table are invalid.
