Can't even browse dmoz...?

I used to achieve decent results [ranking] with dmoz for two websites I've designed. I submitted to a few categories for each site maybe once a month. These categories were honest and accurate. All of a sudden, the websites aren't listed on dmoz, but worse, I can't even browse the entire domain.

 

Is my ISP or IP address blocked? I'm a website designer, I don't do email blasts, and only do infrequent SEO for two customers.

That is called spamming the directory and can get you and all of yoru sites banned

If the sites were listed why did you keep on suggesting them as you just claimed

Must be a problem on your site. Dmoz.org is normaly accesible.

 

Are you sure your questions are related to dmoz.org and not some other website.

I am relatively sure your IP has not been blocked recently for the actions you state above (unless you forgot to tell us something really important ). From time to time the DNS entries of the DMOZ Server seem to behave badly in some places, usually this is fixed automatically within a few days.

 

I don't know you and your sites, so the following are generic ideas only. If all of your sites have been removed I can see a few possible scenarios:

 

1) Something happened which makes us believe you are one of the very few main spammers that give us a headache. If you did nothing more than the above this is unlikely.

 

2) Your sites have been down for a period of time while one of our automated linkcheckers checked them and have been removed for not being available. Are they all on the same server? Then a temporary misconfiguration / serrver downtime could have been the cause.

 

3) Your sites had not been listable in the first place, and a recheck of one of them leaded to them being delisted.

 

4) Your assumption that they have been listed is wrong (Don't look at me like this. You can't imagine how often it happens that sites that are said to be delisted have never been listed at all)

It's absolutely true! Three days I have connection's problems to dmoz's server too.

I'd start by betting on DNS issues, unless someone on your ISP has been aggressively spidering dmoz.org public pages (which is conceivable, for all I know.)
