I listed two web applications 4 months ago <urls removed> but they still didn't show up in the list. Does anyone know who should I contact for this issue? Thanks.

What issue?

There is no issue.

The way the ODP works is like this: editors look for, review, categorize, and describe websites with unique content. There are millions of sites that haven't been found to be reviewed yet. There are millions more sites that have been reviewed and no unique content found.

If you aren't an editor, you can't list sites. You can suggest sites. What does that do? It makes it easier for an editor to find those sites, when they are looking. (And since editors are volunteers, we don't know when which editors will be looking for what.)

All we know is, there is still work to do: millions of sites yet to review. And, as always, we don't control who will review which sites, or when. And we don't even have any way of knowing who will review which sites, or when.

So, if you ask who will review those sites: nobody knows, nobody can ever know. Remember, no site is guaranteed a listing. If someone guaranteed YOU a listing, we need to know who did, because they lied to you. So if you ask if the sites will be listed at all -- we can't even answer that until the site is reviewed. Which we don't know when it will be.

Oh, someone will, eventually. And certainly, tens of millions of sites have been reviewed -- and tens of thousands more are reviewed each week. Some of those sites even get listed.

But which sites get reviewed, in which order, is not an issue for anyone but the editor himself. For everyone else, it might as well be random.

Had you read the FAQ's you would know that we do not give status checks - any yes, your question would require someone to look at the sites status.

Why did you post your sites url after it was removed from your original question?

Posted

Because you were asking for a status check.

And the fact that you are distressed because your URL is not there strongly suggests you are more interested in the link than anything we have to say.

Why did my site url get removed on this forum? I noticed other users had their site url showed. :icon_ques

If you noticed that then you should have noticed all the other available information on how long it can take to get a suggested site listed, if ever, and saved yourself some grief.

In a forum with multiple moderators, it's important to share a general concept of what should be permitted and what shouldn't, and to let individual moderators' judgment go from there.

I trust the moderator, and if she deleted, she had good reason. I don't know what it was -- because I can see more than one obvious good reason.

I think the real question got as much of an answer as we can give here, and ... discussion of moderator decisions is customarily not within the scope of a moderated forum. So this discussion is closed.
