Help - My old URL has gone Porno

Greetings,

 

I am in need of help.

 

I was listed under Society > Law > Services > Dispute Resolution > Service Providers > North America > United States > New York as www.pdmediation.com, but I didn't realize that my domain name registration had expired until I logged on to my site and discovered that it has been hijacked, and that there is now a porno site in its place. They wanted $250 to sell it back, which I was not about to pay, so my site is now www.pdmediation.net. I don't know how to go about notifying the right person or persons to please remove the .com URL above and replace it with my new .net URL.

Run as fast as you can to the category where the site is listed and click "update listing". Then fill out the update request. Then breathe a sigh of relief that your listing will be changed as soon as an editor sees the request. Don't forget to continue breathing after you sigh.

Thank you for your reply. When I went to where you suggested I discovered that my old listing was no longer there so instead of being able to submit an update request I had to submit it as a suggestion for a new listing. Unfortunatley, now the process has to start over from scratch. Also, unfortunately, is that if you go to Google search, for example, and type PDMediation, the results show references to the former (now porno) site and I don't know how that can get resolved. Google gives instructions for removing a URL from their site but that's possible only if one still has control over the URL, which I clearly do not.

It seems we have no automatic system to handle this. We generally catch domains that expire, and move them out of the way to a holding area. But if that happens you can't do an update on it anymore.

 

I would suggest resubmitting with the old description and title (that you can find in Google) and add a note mentioning that your site got hijacked and give the old URL.

Given that I already resubmitted the new URL (with the old description and title) would you suggest that I do it again but this time with the note about the highjacking? Or should I just leave it alone?

I would do it again, if you have the same category it will just overwite the one you just did.

And a final hint: don't let the new site expire, otherwise...
