Guest doraville2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Submitted to http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Market_Research_Suppliers/ on 4/11. Thanks!
Guest Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Good news is that your submission has been received. Not so good news is that your site is awaiting review along with more than 700 others, so it's likely you'll have to be very patient. BTW, I wasn't able to reach your site (server or DNS not found error in IE, Mozilla/NN loads nothing). If this happens when an editor wants to review your site then he/she could reject it right away. Please read this section of the guidelines for more information. A site should be consistently available.
Guest doraville2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Thank you for the reply. I'll ask again in a month, unless by "very patient" you mean I should wait a couple months before checking back. BTW, I have never seen the site down (and it isn't down now), so I'll assume it was a temporary glitch and monitor it closely over the next few weeks. Thanks again!
motsa Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Given the backlog there, I'd wait several months before coming back for a status update (2 or 3 months at least).
Guest Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Unfortunately 'very patient' means waiting a couple of months is more realistic, yes. This doesn't mean your site will be listed by then, but asking for a status update in a month doesn't make much sense given the backlog in this category. I still can't access http://www.polarismr.com/ . Maybe it's me, but I don't have any problems accessing other sites right now. Anything special in your server config that could prevent certain users from visiting your site? <added> motsa was faster <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" /> </added>
Meta kokopeli Posted May 13, 2003 Meta Posted May 13, 2003 Is working for me also, but the same thing happened to me the other day with a site that wouldn't load for me but loaded for everyone else. <img src="/images/icons/confused.gif" alt="" />
Guest Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Strange. Usually I can fix such problems by temporarily switching off my firewall. Maybe they don't like me, my config, and/or the place from where I try to access the site. <img src="/images/icons/tongue.gif" alt="" /> Whatever, as long as the site works it's fine with me.
Guest doraville2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Posted May 13, 2003 Thanks all for your help- I'll check back on August 13th (3 months from today). Senox- not sure why you can't access the site- I can't think of any reason for it <img src="/images/icons/frown.gif" alt="" /> . If anyone else has any problems, please let me know- thanks.
Meta windharp Posted August 6, 2003 Meta Posted August 6, 2003 As reply to your question in a new thread: The category has been renamed to Business/Marketing_and_Advertising/Market_Research - the change is not visible yet, so the link gives an error right now (due to the well known synchronisation issue between the editor server and the public server) but from some point in the future it will show up under the new name. Except from that, I'm sorry to say that not much has changed. Curlie Meta/kMeta Editor windharp
