Guest xaomi Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 Hello, I was wondering what the status of my submission was. I noticed today there was a warning that said my catagory was back-logged. My catagory is: Business:Consumer Goods & Services:Home & Garden:Furniture:Outdoor My URL is http://cedaroutdoorfurniture.com I submitted a couple weeks ago, but don't know if it was received yet or not. I am terrified of being accused of spamming. Can someone check my listing and let me know if I need to resubmit, or if it went through? Thank you.
Alucard Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 Along with that warning, it also probably said something along the lines of "Furniture makers that sell direct to the public online are listed under Shopping." - from a quick look at the web site, it looks like this is what you do, and so your listing would probably get moved and reviewed over there. However, I do not see the URL you asked about in the unreviewed pool for that category, nor can I find any record that an editor reviewed the site in a different category. What I would therefore suggest is that you make your submission to the most appropriate Shopping category you can find. I am not going to make any comment on the listability of the site, however - just advising you where sites like yours should be placed. Thanks.
Guest xaomi Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 Thank you. I will resubmit in the shopping catagory. Should I wait a couple weeks, or a month before I check to see if it's listed? Can you tell me what the "norm" is for that catagory, if there is a "norm". I really appreciate your help.
Guest Posted May 15, 2003 Posted May 15, 2003 Unless you had a problem during the submission process itself or you have serious doubts that your submission was received, you should wait at least one month before asking for a status update. Please re-use this thread to do so. And no, there's no way to tell you how long it might take until your site will be reviewed.
Meta kokopeli Posted May 16, 2003 Meta Posted May 16, 2003 In addition resubmitting overwrites the previous submission (date and all), so if a category is sorted by date by the editor reviewing sies--resubmitting can actually make it take far longer for your site to be reviewed. I would just come back here, and inquire after a month and not resubmit.
Guest Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Hmm, there must be a misunderstanding somewhere. As far as I understand this thread, the first submission hasn't been received at all, and the second (new) one should be made somewhere in Shopping. Cedar205 should wait at least one month before requesting a submission status for the new submission unless he/she has serious doubts that it didn't go through. Or am I completely wrong here?
Meta kokopeli Posted May 16, 2003 Meta Posted May 16, 2003 It is my mistake, I misread, "Thank you. I will resubmit in the shopping catagory. Should I wait a couple weeks, or a month before I check to see if it's listed?" as I didn't see the statement that it wasn't in the category when checked. Ignore my statement above
