Bondat Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Hi to all DMOZ editor. I don't know how to express my emotion how upset I am that my site not being listed in one category in DMOZ that I feel that I deserve to be there.I have already applied for inclusion of my site last 6 months. And I have emailed already the editor and still no feedback from him. My site is somewhere in Winter sports category. I dont want to post the specific category here in public forums. But I can pm the editors that will respond to my post here. Please help. Thanks a lot for reading.
spectregunner Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Hi: I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I don't think you are going t get much help here. No one is guaranteed a listing, and we make no commitments as to how long it will take for us to review a suggestion, so there is no reason for you to be upset that you hve not yet been listed. Editors are discouraged for responding to people such as yourself, whose only purpose in contacting them is to encourage/nag/berate them into reviewing a given site. Too many submitters have acted poorly in the past, and wise eidtors to not repsond to e-mails. Similarly, you probably won't get any resone to PMs on this forum. For example if you were to PM me, it would get deleted without being read -- I simply ignore/delete PMs from submitters. Spend some quality time withour FAQ and you will get a better understanding of why we make no promises, why it is not reasonable for you to be upset, and why statements such as: I feel that I deserve to be there will not do you any good. bottom line: you have submitted, that is all that you can do, at some point n time we will look at your suggestion and determine wheteher or not to list your site. It is as simple as that.

Meta shadow575 Posted August 25, 2006 Meta Posted August 25, 2006 Thanks for being so nice to me. So this is what I get if I will tell how I feel. Thanks anyway. Goodluck to you all. Have a nice day. What you got was some straight forward factual information from experience. Nothing more, nothing less. It sounds like your site is listed somewhere already. If you have submitted an update request to move the site to a new category that is all you can do. Editors will review the update request and act upon it if necessary. I don't know how to express my emotion how upset I am that my site not being listed in one category in DMOZ that I feel that I deserve to be there. Its not a matter of deserving to be there, its a matter of whether the site is listable within the guidelines. If it is then eventually it will be included, if it isn't then it won't be. Being upset isn't going to help and spamming editors whose names happen to be on the category or surrounding categories with requests to review your site certainly isn't going to help. What might help is reading the Submission Instructions (which you agreed to having read when you suggested the URL) and also the forum FAQ here. That might help answer some of the questions that are causing such frustration. I do not respond to private messages requesting site status checks. _______________________________________________ https://shadow575.wordpress.com/
