sthomas Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Hi, I tried to submit http://www.acquireo.com to the category http://dmoz.org/Business/Opportunities/Brokerages/ But as per dmoz, the site already exists in the category.Unfortunately i am not able to find it . Can anyone explain why this happens? Is there anything i should do about it?? Thanks a lot, Sini
jimnoble Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Look again . I'm responding to what's in effect a status request because of the unusual nature of the problem. It was published in the category by an editor with greenbuster privileges - which means that it's invisible until approved by somebody more senior.
Meta hutcheson Posted September 7, 2006 Meta Posted September 7, 2006 Here's one way it can happen: There is a type of permissions called "greenbusting" where you can tentatively add sites to a category, subject to later review by someone with "full" permissions. A greenbust-listed site is in the category but not yet publicly visible. A bit of linguistic context: "greens" are suggestions, the number of which is shown in green digits on the editor's dashboard, in contrast to "reds", possible QA problems caught by our brave but dangerous link checking robot, the number of which is shown in--you get the drift.) There are some rare page synchronization issues that will cause the same symptom, but this is probably by far the most common case. It is a sign that a site has been vetted by at least one set of editorial eyes--presumably a good thing, indicating the next review is more likely [not certain!] to be (1) faster, (2) sooner, (3) favorable. There is nothing you should or could do about it.
