cleopatra Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Forgive me if this is a dumb question. How does a user submit a banner to dmoz? I love the dragon, and thought it would be fun to create one. But, I couldnt find any info on how to submit. I am not in the Directory. I just submitted my site to dmoz about a half hour ago, so I am not sure if I am technically a "user". lol I was just wondering. The dragon is really cute. What's his name? If I asked or posted this in the wrong section of the forum, I apologize. :o
jeanmanco Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Hi Cleopatra. The little green lizard is called Mozilla. There are lots of images of Mozilla which editors can use at the bottom of the categories they edit. They are created by editors. I must admit I haven't heard of one submitted by a non-editor. I'm glad someone has noticed them! They add a touch of fun.
dogbows Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I have seen some of the mozzie characters on at least one website before. As a matter of fact a couple of them were used on the mozzie editor awards in the past. I didn't recognize the creator as an editor, but he could have been.
dogbows Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Oops! My bad! I found the site, but it states that they are copyrighted images of Netscape. http://www.graphic-station.com/mozilla.htm
cleopatra Posted October 11, 2006 Author Posted October 11, 2006 Thanks. Maybe they should change it to editor submitted instead lol. I appreciate the reply.
