Guest Posted May 19, 2003 Posted May 19, 2003 I *think* (ok I`m forgetful, sorry) I submitted my site www.cumnock.net to the category http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Scotland/East_Ayrshire/ , simply querying status.........and if I`ve submitted to a different category and cant remember which one, err what can I do to ascertain status?....sorry if this is a hassle......Ian
dfy Posted May 19, 2003 Posted May 19, 2003 It looks like your submission got trapped by our spam filter. There's no need to worry, our filter regularly catches genuine sites, and we check each one individually. In time your site will be moved out to the correct category, where the local editors will jump on it and review it. If you want to come back and check again, please leave at least a month before doing so.
Guest Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 many thanks for the prompt reply, the site I am attempting to submit is a bigger/better version ("proper" domain name, professionaly hosted etc) of a site called places of interest around Cumnock (url=www.carballo4.freeserve.co.uk)which IS listed in the directory.....some content/subject matter in my new site is similar to my old one, how do I ensure that my new site/submission is not deemed as duplicating?.....my intention is to eventually (when my new site is listed and picked up by search engines)just have the one site (my new one) at www.cumnock.net . Already though my new site has more content than the old one and is a genuine non commercial community site.

Guest Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 many thanks again for your prompt reply ,no, I`m happy to have my "old" site removed if my new site gets listed. I was just concerned that my new site might not get listed. Although my new site covers similar/same content/subject matter it is new and different. Thanks again, I`m thinking I`m getting slightly off the remit of this forum........Ian
marisa1116 Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 It's been updated. The new site title is Cumnock.net, yes?
Guest Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 err I think so, its been a while since I submitted it......url is www.cumnock.net if that helps, sorry for being a pain and thanks for the prompt help/attention.......
Guest Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 many thanks, it is listed, and the title you stated was correct
Guest Posted May 22, 2003 Posted May 22, 2003 when I do a search of the directory my site doesnt show.......... it was only listed 2-3 days ago, does it take time to "update"?
marisa1116 Posted May 22, 2003 Posted May 22, 2003 Yes, it does take time to update. No, I can't say for certain how long it will take.
