Guest dongiovanni Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 My site, http://www.cyberartisans.com, is current listed in Regional: North America: United States: Massachusetts: Localities: N: Newton: Business and Economy: Internet. Would it be possible to change the locality to Boston, with everything else the same? Newton is a suburb of Boston (about 8 miles west) but few people would ever think of (or even know about!) Newton when looking for a business in the Boston area. Thanks. Jon
lachenm Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 In Regional, we list sites based on where they are, not where they would like to be. We never list sites by using a "nearest big city" criterion. As a listed editor for Newton and for Massachusetts as a whole, I can tell you that your site will not be moved unless your company moves. Sorry, but this is a general policy that won't be changed in the forseeable future. Also, for the record, as I said in another thread earlier today, this forum is not the appropriate place to request category changes. Please use the "update URL" link in the category where your site is currently listed. In this case, however, there is no need.
Guest dongiovanni Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 OK, thanks for the clarification. Sorry about the use of the wrong forum -- I'm a new member and I saw some similar postings in this forum so I assumed it was the right place (and I didn't see your comment). Jon
lachenm Posted May 20, 2003 Posted May 20, 2003 >>Sorry about the use of the wrong forum<< No problem. We don't really expect everyone to be an expert here. <img src="/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" /> Sorry if my post seemed harsh -- it wasn't meant to be. I was just trying to make the point for anyone else who happens to read this thread, and who might be thinking of making a similar request...
