Meta hutcheson Posted November 22, 2006 Meta Posted November 22, 2006 (originally deleted post, moved back into public view to heap ridicule on the stupid sleazoids who use other people's forums for their own idiotic self-promotion.) Folks, we USUALLY delete these posts, often within minutes. But this one sets new standards for idiocy. The usual scam (as you all know) is for the astroturfer to register for a forum, and in his very first post pretend to be a customer of some irrelevant toxic-waste scamsite nobody else ever heard of. (Probably, THIS scam is to get spyware or adware installed on other people's machines.) Then the same astroturfer registers again with a different name, and posts again (again with his first post), pretending to be an ecstatically satisfied customer and giving a radioactively glowing review. He repeats without rinsing through multiple forums. But this particular idiot was too stupid to realize that the two posts had to seem like different people. So he saved some time by only registering in the forum once. Like the hair-club mouthpiece, he's not only the president, he's also the (single?) satisfied customer. And, just in case we all missed the point, he posted the same posts, from the identical singlet of sock puppets, in another Resource-Zone forum: the reply, however, was slightly modified: Smile Thanks Yes i love the games and thanks for that.. I want more............... Funnier than a mime with a ventriloquist's dummy.
Spock Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I used to have a lot of those in my forum but found the perfect solution ... for me anyway. I closed my forum to public registrations. It makes things a little harder on me when I want to add a new member but much easier in that I no longer need to check out each and every new applicant.
