I just thought I would pop in and say how nice it is to see Dmoz up and running again, I hope in the new year I will be able to submit some new sites.

It is working perfectly except some lesser important features like the ability to suggest sites. See the announcement for more info.

I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.

Hi Sean

Check out the announcement thread. Though you cannot suggest or update urls yet we editors can finally edit. This means that the main functionality of DMOZ is up and running - editors can check through for dead links, add sites they find etc etc. It certainly brings home to me how much there is to do that does not involve just listing sites. After two months of non-editing, we editors are obviously overjoyed and have a lot to do (eg explaining to wife why she could do the last xmas shopping on her own whilst I check out a few more categories for dead links :) ).

We understand it is still very frustrating for people who want to suggest their sites and we welcome everyones patience. There are still aspects of the recovery being worked on. As usual we do not have an ETA but can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hopfully it will give Editors some time to at least start getting caught up. Best of luck !!

Thanks, and with the xmas holidays coming up, barring over-indulgence, we will be off to a good start. :)

I'm wondering if the previously suggested URLs that may have been still pending review were wiped out. Was all that data lost or was it recovered? I'd like to know if I should re-suggest any URLs when that feature gets restored.

It was down from somwhere end of october (see the announcement for details).

The public server was corrected within a few days.

The editor server was available beginning this week.

Update of public server with changes on editor server is active.

Communication from public to editor server is still down.

I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.

See the answer in the post before yours.

It has been said many times that we will tell you when things will be available and it has also been said many times that we don't have an estimation when that will be happening. Asking again and again won't change anything.

I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.

Please see the bright red and yellow announcement at the top of this sub-forum to which lmocr was referring to when they said 'Please see the bright red and yellow announcement at the top of this sub-forum' in the post to which you were replying.

regards

<edited> pvgool was faster - 'Asking again and again won't change anything.' - Our cat goes to a door and asks to be let out. When it is raining, she inspects the outside and decides to come in. She then goes to another door and asks to be let out. She inspects the outside and sees its raining so comes back in. Once she's repeated this process with the other door, the dining room window and both landing windows, she returns to the first door and repeats the process. Eventually it stops raining so it must work. :)

I'm afraid that service is presently unavailable. We'll update the announcements when it becomes available.
