Garret Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 It's been suggested to me that inclusion, or more specifically, lack of inclusion in the ODP doesn't harm any business or person. Post your thoughts and first-hand observations here. 1. Did getting listed in DMOZ improve your ranking results at other sites? 2. Was there any noticeable difference in your traffic patterns pre/post inclusion? 3. Is anyone here indexed in AOL or any other TWX owned property's search engine without being listed in the ODP? 4. How would you rate your experience with the ODP? I realize these forums are heavily weighted towards users wanting inclusion, but I'd really like to hear from some of those that already are.
brmehlman Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 At first glance, this looks like an ODP related issue. It even has ODP in the thread title. But, it's not. I suppose I should explain. Improving results for a web site or for its owner is in no way part of our mission or our ambition. We strive to improve results for web surfers, not for web sites. Since the question is of no relevance to the ODP, and therefor of no relevance to this forum, I'm going to close this thread. There are many forums on the web which, unlike this one, have the purpose of discussing ways to improve the success of web sites. You can find several such at our web promotion forums category. I'm sure one of the forums listed there will be an excellent source of the information you are seeking.
