satgerd Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 With the search terms "satellit faq" dmoz shows a site where only a text is shown. This text means, that the reader already knows, that the faq isn't maintained since three years. This site should be removed from dmoz. On the other hand the maintained satellite faq is only to be found with "satellitenempfang faq". Here should the descriptor satellit be added. Thanks, Gerd
Meta tschild Posted February 26, 2007 Meta Posted February 26, 2007 With the search terms "satellit faq" dmoz shows a site where only a text is shown. This text means, that the reader already knows, that the faq isn't maintained since three years. This site should be removed from dmoz. That site has been deleted some weeks ago (it will be dropped from search results when next the site seach index will be updated). Regarding the other site ("Satellitenempfang in Europa - FAQ") - here the word "Satellit" would be redundant in the description (because "Satellitenempfang" is already in the title). We write the site descriptions in order to descibe the site's content, not in order for the entry to be returned for a specific search.
satgerd Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 Thank you very much for the answer, tschild. About three weeks ago even google lists my hp at the places one and two again as earlier. So there must be another reason to hide my hp by google for about one and a half year. Suspicious is the "allesklar" organization. The other search engines always listed my hp on the top. regards, Gerd
Meta hutcheson Posted February 27, 2007 Meta Posted February 27, 2007 We don't discuss Google reasons here. And whatever Google's reasons are, they won't affect the ODP guidelines in any way.
