alexbac Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Hi, I tried to email staff@dmoz.org in order to ask for a listing to be amended, but my email bounced back - it had forwarded to an AOL mailbox, and said mailbox was reportedly full, hence the bounce. I have sent my amendment in now via the "update listing" link, although it was not my submission originally. Please inform me if I should send this information elsewhere for you to check. Thanks, Alex Proudfoot <pseudo signature removed>
motsa Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 E-mailing staff has never been the best way to request a change to a listing (yes, I know that there's at least one help page that says you should e-mail staff but, well, I wouldn't). That's what the "Update listing" is for so you did exactly what you needed to do. it was not my submission originallyThat's OK. Updates can be requested by anyone, not just the original suggester.
alexbac Posted February 6, 2007 Author Posted February 6, 2007 Thanks for reply. I just checked and the category listing has been updated, which is great - the old description still shows up in the search though - is this just a case of how often the search engine is re-indexed? Thanks, Alex.
