ledwards Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I would like to make a suggestion. When a new editor application is submitted, it would be nice if a confirmation email was sent to the specified email address in the application. Therefore, the user would know that it was received and would have a record of the application with username and further information. I've noticed a few "Status Check" threads in the "Becoming an Editor" forum that state the application may have never been received. A confirmation email would avoid waiting two or three weeks to find out that the application was never received properly.
Meta shadow575 Posted March 14, 2007 Meta Posted March 14, 2007 Applicants already do receive an email regarding their application. Once someone submits an application an email is sent to them that must be replied to in order to verify and complete the application submission. If you fail to reply to that verification email the application won't be completed or delivered to the Meta's for review. Shadow *The opinions I offer are my own and may not represent the opinions of Curlie.org or other editors.* It can take anywhere from two hours to several years for a site review to take place. I do not respond to private messages requesting site status checks. _______________________________________________ https://shadow575.wordpress.com/
HeartOfTheOrder Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Actually you'll receive 2 emails. The first is the confirming email that you must reply to in order to confirm you have a valid email address. After confirming you get a Open Directory editor application received "Thanks for applying" email. So it seems to me, all the bases are covered!
ledwards Posted March 14, 2007 Author Posted March 14, 2007 Okay, thanks. That would explain why my last application was never reviewed... I never got any emails. Never mind my suggestion
RZ Admin photofox Posted March 14, 2007 RZ Admin Posted March 14, 2007 Be sure to check your spam filter, sometimes email from DMOZ can get caught in there. Curlie Admin photofox
