Hello, I got the notification after registering that I am already an editor - however, I was a DMOZ editor in either 1999 or 2000, and had no idea that I was still considered one, since I have been inactive since then. What is the next step I can take to get back into this?

Since this was such a long time ago, I don't know what email or screenname I had back then, although I can take a guess at what the email address was.

Thanks

If your email address is still valid, you might want to get a password reminder (Due to the system crash last year passwords of most times out editors have been lost, so it's lkikely your old password won't work anymore). With that password, you could request reinstatement as an editor. All of the links you need are on http://dmoz.org/help/existing.html :-)

In case your old email is not working anymore and your password won't work, the following applies:

Please contact me via http://dmoz.org/cgi-bin/send.cgi?toeditor=windharp with as much corroborative information as you can such as:-

Approximate date joined

Editor name (but not password)

Original email address

Joining category

Additional categories gained and when

Roughly how many edits done, specifics about any edits done

Approximate date of leaving and the circumstances

Convince me that you are who you say you are and I can reset your email address of record to one that works today. This will make it possible for you to request a password reminder and complete a reinstatement request form.

Thanks Windharp - I'll have to use the form to contact you, the password sender asks for a username only, and I just can't seem to remember what I chose way back then!

login problems

Hello, I seem to be having login problems with my editor account. I'm using the right user/pass combo, and I even tried the "forgot my password" option, and tried that password as well, and it still doesn't work.

He said the login/password combo doesn't work, I reported the issue to staff (as I told markn via mail), but ther was no response yet. There really is no need to cause additional work on our side :-)
