cvetter Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Hey Folks! I have been working to get my site listed with the dmoz. Unlike most of the other directories I have managed to get my site listed on, the DMOZ does not send out any type of confirmation for anything, unless I am missing something. I have submitted my site at least 6 times since January and I have no idea if anyone has even seen my information. Can anyone tell me if this is normal and is there and express listing service available? I have my site listed on most of the big directories and this is like the last big one I have not been able to get listed on. Thank you, Chris
motsa Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Yes, it's normal. No, there isn't an express listing service available. And I'd suggest that you stop suggesting your site -- 6 times in 4 months is more than sufficient. Someone will review the site eventually.
cvetter Posted May 10, 2007 Author Posted May 10, 2007 Suggestion - Sure it's been heard before Maybe if the dmoz submission system would summarize the entry that someone makes in an email to the individual requesting the submission it would cut down on the number of times people would submit sites? Why does it seem that the most sought after directory listing is the hardest to achieve and why does it seem like no one gives a hoot? just my ranting, I already know the answer, limited staff, free labor services, ect.
spectregunner Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Oh, we give a "hoot". Very much so. It is just that the "hoot" we care about is not the same "hoot" that the people suggesting sites care about. This is one area where we will never see eye-to-eye. But, it was a good rant, nonetheless.
jimnoble Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 The question has been answered. Pointless additional posts removed and thread closed.
