Hello,

Apologies for posting on this topic in this forum: There is no forum for MusiCMOZ and no one is answering the questions I entered on their feedback form:

Does anyone know if MusicMOZ is being actively edited/updated?

The site is up, but the last XML data dump was in Oct 2006, before the start of the DMOZ issues that got resolved eventually.

If anyone has info on whether/when MusicMOZ plans to resume XML data dump updates, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks!!!

Thanks, motsa.

This is the latest post on the thread you pointed out:

The server that Musicmoz uses is currently having some technical problems. Once those are corrected Musicmoz will return. :)

The musicmoz.com server is indeed back up, but there is no news on musicmoz.com, or the thread you pointed out, about XML updates.

It would be good to know about any progress on getting the update schedule back on track.

Appreciate your reply.

The reason I pointed out hutcheson's post rather than the last post in that thread is that his comment about the research server is pertinent. I believe that any lingering issues with MusicMoz are related to lingering issues with the research server. That may include the XML updates.

You're right. The "research server" where MusicMOZ is hosted is where all the lingering issues lie.

I do understand that DMOZ editors are not involved with the rsearch server or MusicMOZ, and appreciate the courtesy of your replies.

I only wish someone from MusicMOZ would step in and let us know more about the situation. If you do happen to know anybody directly involved with MusicMOZ, please let them know that there are people who are regular users of the Web site, AND the XML data :-).

Thanks for your patience with me!

Actually they know, but AFAICT there still are access problems of various kinds. Sorry to say, but most likely that will still take some time to be solved.
