I understand many of member of Dmoz can read or write english. However, many of them can not. Today, I received an email written in sim. chinese / traditional chinese. I am not sure because as I programmer like me, I believe this email encoded wrongly.

I believe Dmoz does not has a seasoned programmer. If not, why does Dmoz not care about language coding??

It would probably help us look into the problem is you could tell us what the email was about. Was it a rejection of an editor application for example? Also what mail client / system are you using to view the mail?

We have lots of international editors, and obviously need to make sure we don't have any character encoding issues especially with non-latin character sets. I think all the outgoing email messages are now encoded using UTF-8, if that means anything to you.
