We are desperately trying to reach an editor, to help us REMOVE our listing from your directory.

However we do not find any contact information. Can you please help?

Our directory listing is found at the following URL

http://www.google.com/Top/Business/Investing/Research_and_Analysis/Technical_Analysis/

And we wish to remove the following content:

<removed site specific information>

Thank you for yourh help.

Regards,

First off, to clarify the correct path for a DMOZ listing would be http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Investing/Research_and_Analysis/Technical_Analysis/ while Google copies and uses ODP data we have no control over what they choose to list at google.com.

I have removed your URL and specific personal information from this thread, as discussions on specific URL's are not accepted on these forums. As for the general question of removing a listed site:

  1. Sites are not listed or de-listed upon request. Sites are listed in the directory in accordance to the inclusion guidelines, and if a site qualifies for inclusion it is not going to be removed. This in part helps protect sites from someone impersonating a site owner and attempting to remove their listing.
  2. If there is a problem with title or description that we have listed, we want to fix it. The appropriate way to bring it to the attention of an editor is to go the category (on dmoz.org) where its listed and select the update a URL link. Update requests are typically of higher importance to editors and generally are processed more quickly, however there is still no time frame for how long an update request will await review. Also, if the request is to update the title/description outside our guidelines on titles and descriptions the request will be denied.
  3. If the site is no longer listable, then an update request with that information is also appropriate, or posting the appropriate information in the Quality Control Thread on these forums will help us identify problem listings that need removed.

Hope that helps.

Shadow

*The opinions I offer are my own and may not represent the opinions of Curlie.org or other editors.*

It can take anywhere from two hours to several years for a site review to take place.

I do not respond to private messages requesting site status checks.

If you wanted your site removed from our directory because our description shows up in search results elsewhere, you might want to investigate the NOODP metatag.
