imnajam Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 It took me approximately an hour or so to read all the stuff very carefully, and than resubmit my editor application to http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Asia/Pakistan/Arts_and_Entertainment/ But unfortunately, I didn't receive confirmation email (the email which I have to respond for my own email confirmation), instead I receive a page with the following instructions. Request Reinstatement of Editor Account Use this form: if you believe your editor account expired. Accounts expire if you do not login within the first month, or, if you do not edit for a consecutive period of four months. if you accidently removed your editor account. if your editor account was purposely removed, and you would like to be reconsidered for reinstatement. Note: One person having multiple accounts constitutes abuse, and when discovered all accounts will be removed. Do not use this form: if you have forgotten your password. Use the password reminder form instead. All reinstatements are made at the discretion of the senior ODP editors reviewing these requests. Generally, if your account is in good standing, your request to be reinstated will be granted. Enter your username: Enter your password: E-Mail address: Your e-mail address should match the e-mail you used as an editor. If it is different, then provide your old e-mail address in your reason for reinstatement below. Why do you want to be reinstated as editor? My previous editor application was rejected, however with the above statement I feel that my previous application have some affects, and I could reapply with the same email address or so....... can you please guide me once again in this regard? P.S: I tried recovering my password but it says no such user...(including this info as it might be helpful) the email address i used for my previous email address and current email address is dmoz [at] najam-njm [dot]com Some information that I might need to add as per forum guidelines here. my previous & current username = itsnjm Last email which I received from google informing me that my application has been rejected :Wednesday, October 24, 2007 11:29:32 AM I try to reapply today almost 5 hours ago. I first posted the same thread here on DP and than I was referred here by crowbar
motsa Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 You'll get the reinstatement form if you choose either Yes or nothing at all for the question asking if you've been an editor before. I'm guessing you forgot to check anything at all there.
imnajam Posted October 28, 2007 Author Posted October 28, 2007 Thank you for the help, I re-tried with carefully looking at the option you mentioned and have successfully applied for the editorship of the http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Asia/Pakistan/Arts_and_Entertainment/ category. Now, let's see how things are carried away
imnajam Posted October 29, 2007 Author Posted October 29, 2007 Update: the bad thing is that I am rejected once again The good / impressive thing is that my application get reviewed within an hour, and after 1 hour and 15 minutes I received the email that my application has been rejected. I will read more stuff, improve myself and retry in a day or 2.
imnajam Posted January 6, 2008 Author Posted January 6, 2008 Just want to update this thread as I reapplied, than rejected and again re applied today My first retry attempt was on 5 January, and the second one is just on the way:) Just a quick note to update this thread, that I got a response from dmoz editor within 12 hours, and the best thing which I received in this response was "reviewers feedback"(I am not going to disclose it as I am not sure if I can do this or not). Anyways, I have re-written my application, overcome my week points in my application, and submitted once again by following the suggestion of reviewer. Let's see how it goes on, btw, I don't know why but I feel quite confident to be approved by now.
