Hi,

I have a furniture based website <url removed>. I submit my website on http://www.dmoz.org, under the category (Top: Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Business and Economy: Shopping: Home and Garden: Furniture.

It’s over 8 months, but still waiting for the submission of my website in the Dmoz directory.

Could any one tell me the status of my website, and do I need to submit it again. Could anyone help me in this regard?

Thanks.

We don't provide site status reports (as you were told last time you asked ;) ). Site suggestions don't go away until they have been reviewed, which can take a long time if there is no editor who is interested in reviewing sites in the category in question. There shouldn't be any need to suggest the site again - there is always a small risk that a suggestion is eaten by a bug and doesn't reach the category, so provided you have indeed only suggested it once, several months ago, you could minimise the risk further by making one more suggestion. (In 99% of the cases that is completely unnecessary). There is nothing you can do to speed up the time until review, I'm afraid.

This forum's FAQ has some information about suggesting a site, review times etc. :moz:

i have just check the category update status, which is displayed on the bottom of the category and its says "Last update: 2:08 PT, Sunday, November 18, 2007".

so i am bit worried that may be the editor list some specific website or he missed my website or may be he didn't got my request, bit curious about it.

Thanks for the replay.

That just means that somebody (or maybe a QC robot) did some work there on that date. It can't be deduced that they processed any/every thing that could be processed there.

Need help in category selection

Hi,

I have a furniture based website in United Kingdom, I want to add my website in DMOZ, I have looked different categories, could anyone suggest which one is suitable for Furniture based Website. <url removed>

Categories are:-

1) Top: Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Business and Economy: Shopping: Home and Garden: Furniture

Or

2) Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Business and Economy: Industries: Manufacturing: Consumer Products: Furniture

Or

3) Shopping: Home and Garden: Furniture

Thanks in advance for useful suggestions.

As you have already suggested the site to the UK Shopping category there is no point in sending it there again. If you do sell furniture outside the UK you can also suggest the site (once only, please) to the Shopping category (your alternative #3).

Time between suggestion and listing of a site can vary from several days to several years.

The fact that 13 months have passed after you suggested the site is no reason to suggest it again.

I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
