Site removed from dmoz for no reason?

Just realised that one of my sites is removed from dmoz listing for no apparent reason. It has been listed for 2 years and i just don't understand why this is happening? I submitted a request to update my listing recently and now i'm surprised the listing is gone.

 

Can anyone help me out here please? I'll PM my site url if necessary to the right contact person.

Listed sites are continually reviewed. Perhaps your site didn´t follow our Guidelines for inclusion?

 

There is no "contact person" here. If you feel that something is wrong you can file a report.

Part of the process of handling an update request is re-evaluating the website. One of the following might have happened

• The editor decided that the website would be better listed in a different category and sent it to there for further examination.
• The editor decided that the website doesn't meet our current requirements and removed it.

We don't/won't provide individual website status reports here so please don't post or PM it's URL.

 

If you believe that it was removed in error, by all means re-suggest it.

The other thing to remember is something that is somewhat intuitive.

 

Our goal is to build the directory -- so removing sites for no reason would not make sense.

 

In my experience, the biggest reason that sites get removed is because they stopped working for a period of time. Our link checker will automatically delist a site it if is not working on multiple visits. sometimezs the sited is simply dead, sometimes teh domain has expired and sometimes the URL has changed and the webmaster forgot to put in a redirect (it happens more often than you could imagine -- I've had entire school district websites vanish without a trace).
