Jackino Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Hi! Today I filled out an application to join editors team in some category. Just in couple of hours I recieved an official mail, where they recommended me to choose another category to edit, because my choice was "broader than we typically assign to a new editor". I was told to choose "categories with at least 15 sites (so that you can actively edit and gain experience) but fewer than 70-100 sites are good choices." Well... Unfortunately Russian "section" of Internet is still pretty poor, and there are many categories that count 0-5 sites at all. I hope I can try myself in editing several small categories at once to fulfil the terms "at least 15" and "fewer than 70-100 sites". Please tell me how I can go for it this way, or let me know if you make exceptions for poor world "branches" and I`ll choose category with 5 sites inside. Thank you.
Meta Artisands Posted January 10, 2008 Meta Posted January 10, 2008 If there is a smaller category where you feel you will be able to find a decent number of unlisted sites, that should be alright. The point is to have a category small enough to "learn the ropes" without causing too much damage, yet with enough listable sites to gain editing experience before moving on to a larger category. Jackino Posted January 10, 2008 Author Posted January 10, 2008 OK, thank you. I`m pretty sure that I can find really good examples in the category I`ve chosen and "learn the ropes" in there before you could trust me enough and let me edit a larger one. Please keep an eye on my next request, because I`ll take a category with only 5 sites inside. Just for beginning
Jackino Posted January 11, 2008 Author Posted January 11, 2008 Update: I changed my mind and found a better category for me. There are whole 29 sites, so all terms are satisfied. I hopefully wait for the verdict.
