Good afternoon!

13/04/2007 my site has got into a category Society: Religion and Spirituality: Christianity: Music: Lyrics.

But, the description was, actualy, not correct with lots of grammatical mistakes. Besides, the category doesn't confirm to the site's subject.

I wrote letters to higher editors, where I've described this problem and asked to investigate it. And also totransfer the site into another, more suitable category (for example, offering the categories Arts: Music: Lyrics or Arts: Music: Lyrics: Hip Hop).

The site had completely dissapeared from DMOZ after it (27/06/2007). I have sent lots repeated applications about site's addition to catalogue, but has no success.

Could you help me please to solve this problem?

Lol, I love it!

It's policy to not help people with individual sites.

A dmoz editor made a mistake in category and errors in grammer but hey, tough luck, you and your site aren't worth helping lol.

Why even try?

We already have a perfectly good mechanism for people to let us know about things that need to be changes with listings: You can use the "update listing2 feature on the category page. Updates are typically given a higher priority by editors, so are usually dealt with fairly quickly, but even so in some areas of the directory it may take a while for someone to get to them.

Editors can see the list of updates waiting, and will deal with them as quickly as they can. How would it help to have people being able to demand instant changes on this forum? As soon as word got around, we'd be just as swamped with requests here as we are with the official "update listing" requests.

I am more worried about such thing: When I asked to correct mistakes in description, the site was deleted and it doesn't apear in DMOZ for couple of mounths.

The site had passed a verification by editors. Since that time there where no changes into worse that can influence the remove of directory.

Most likely the site was unreviewed, not deleted. If the editor who reviewed your update request didn't have editing privileges in the category where you feel the site should be listed, then they can only send the site to unreviewed in the second category, where it waits for someone else to review it.

This thing is that in those sections where the site might be transfered, there were tens of updates during this year (according to dates on page). And my site didn't appear anywhere.

I understand that it is not done to ask to consider personal applications but perhaps somebody can help me? Maybe my site is banned for some reasons? Can it be checked?

The fact that a category might have been updated during the time you've been watching it doesn't indicate what type of activity the category has seen. The updates may have been to remove or correct bad listings, or to add @links or change the category description. It in no way indicates that your site, if it was indeed moved, has been rejected.

If you are concerned that it has gotten lost, by all means feel free to resuggest the site to that category. But understand that there really is nothing you can do to speed up the process.
