bobgentry Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Help, I submitted my site <URL removed> a few months ago via some automated SEO software. Now I have come here and read all the correct procedures I know my entry sucks. What should I do? Do I resubmit a correctly formatted entry or wait and hope a good natured editor will correct it for me. I assume if it looks a rubbish entry it will get removed from the queue and I will never Know.
spectregunner Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 We don't judge sites based on the quality of the suggestion, we base them on the content of the website. Horrid suggestions may not get reviewed as quickly as well prepared ones. Having said that, a single additional suggestion will not cause life as we know it to come to an end. Go for it.
gimmster Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 via some automated SEO softwareThat is specifically mentioned in the suggestion form http://www.dmoz.org/add.html Auto-submission software is (and always has been) a violation of this procedure. Sites submitted automatically are flagged and deleted after the submission is accepted, without notification to you. Persistent automatic submission may force us to ban you from the dmoz site, so we can provide resources to real human beings. Having said that since the captcha was introduced many less suggestions of this type even get to the spam filters. It is much more likely that the 'automated software' didn't get past the captcha and so the suggestion was never received. Suggesting again manually is definitely your best course of action.
