Meta informator Posted December 5, 2009 Meta Posted December 5, 2009 ODP do not provide any publicly available traffic numbers (as already explained). Curlie (Dmoz) Meta editor informator
Meta hutcheson Posted December 7, 2009 Meta Posted December 7, 2009 Traffic is something that only matters in advertising. Stores don't measure traffic, they measure sales. But the ODP isn't even retail. You might think of it as manufacturing -- we create content, then ship it wholesale to other websites for presentation (to whatever traffic THEY have.) Customers are welcome to walk around the factory, but we're just as happy if they walk around one of the "showrooms" (other websites) instead. Apparently, this is hard for lots of affiliate-banner-farm proprietors to understand. All that matters to them is traffic, and anyone who copies their "information" is "a thief". (Personally, as the son/grandson/husband/nephew*3/etc. of various teachers, I really cannot understand THEIR attitude. A teacher WANTS people to take information and spread it around!)
