How long does it take sites that use the ODP on their site to update their version of it? And how do they do it?

Cheers

I guess that would depend on each "site" using the dmoz data, our site has been listed on dmoz for a couple of weeks now but google directory has yet to pick it yet. I would presume that they crawl dmoz the same as any other site.

At one point the Google Directory was many months behind, and I'm sure there are sites who are even slower with updating their data.

How frequently they do that, or even whether they do it at all, is of course completely up to them, and the ODP has no control over that process.

UnderT you will find the internal forums are an essential resource on all sorts of topics. I suggest making good use of the forum search there, and posting your questions in the appropriate internal forum if you do not find answers in the results. :)

FAQ about becoming a volunteer ODP editor.

I edit for the ODP and support those guidelines at all times, but my opinions are my own.

That is something only the owners of these sites can answer. DMOZ does not have control over their activities.

And how do they do it?

They use the RDF DMOZ provides. Read about it on http://rdf.dmoz.org/ .

I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
