I have a web site that provides a great deal of information on digital audio restoration, i.e.: The kinds of hardware, software and techniques necessary to remove noise from analog recordings like lp's, reel-to-reel tape and cassettes.

After searching through numerous categories and subcategories I am unable to find an appropriate category.

Can someone suggest an existing category that would be appropriate for such a web site? Or is there a need for a new category that would include such site?

Thank you.

We wouldn't create a new subcategory for one site. Have a look around and find a reasonable category and suggest the site there. If it isn't the perfect category, the reviewing editor will send it to the right one.

I agree that it would not make sense to create a cataegory for one site. However there are a number of other web sites that also deal with the same subject (digital audio restoration) and I am unable to find ANY of those listed among your categories.

That suggests that there is indeed a need for a new category for web sites providing information on digital audio restoration. Perhaps under Arts/Music/ or under Computer/multimedia?

Thank you for your consideration.

If we're talking about businesses, there are categories for those in Business and in Shopping. If you're talking about purely informational sites, then somewhere in http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Multimedia/ or possibly http://www.dmoz.org/Recreation/Audio/ might be appropriate -- feel free to suggest all of those other sites when you suggest your own to a reasonable category. If, when they are reviewed, the reviewing editor feels a new category should be created, they'll create it.

Thank you!

That is EXACTLY the sub category that I needed. I just didn't know where to look.

I have made a request for inclusion of my web site in that category and will wait to hear the results.

Again, thank you for directing me to the right area!

nd will wait to hear the results.

Your wait will be infinite...there is no notification process for any editorial actions. (Other than a site appearing in the directory).
