DRW Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Well, I must say that in all these years of being a national journalist, copywriter and web user, I've never come across anyone as thoroughly obnoxious as you, Jim Noble.* Maybe if you weren't such a small-minded, life-lacking nobody who's clearly resolved nothing better in his humdrum existence than to sit at an old computer in his bedroom and send rude emails to strangers, you'd realise that not everyone has all the time in the world to worry about geeky rules on the internet. Would you be so brave if you weren't hiding behind your PC keyboard? Of course not. Having a bad day, are you? I do hope so. It's not even as if your website works properly - the contact form gives a proxy error. It's a joke. And you are a clown. An old, bald and ignorant one at that. Thanks for amusing me for five minutes. Dan
jimnoble Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 We aim to please . Sadly, I've no idea who you are or recollection of how I so upset you.
DRW Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 What's up? Losing your memory as well as any sense of manners? You emailed me less than an hour ago...

Thanks for amusing me for five minutes. Dan Aha, gotcha. Here's my email to you. Thanks for suggesting that we list <url removed> in our directory at England level, despite the large font bright red message on the form immediately above where you typed in the URL. It includes "Please Read!" "An individual establishment should be submitted to its locality." and "Submissions ignoring these guidelines are likely to be declined." It was. In future please help us to help your clients by paying more attention to what you're doing with their websites. ..you'd realise that not everyone has all the time in the world to worry about geeky rules on the internet Oh I see; you've decided that your time was more valuable than that of the volunteer who'd have to sort out your listing suggestion. Well on this occasion, it didn't work. link to ignored instructions
DRW Posted January 7, 2009 Author Posted January 7, 2009 Ah, shame you noticed your error there. The link amused me. Any normal, reasonable person (and I thought the idea of being a volunteer was to help people. Oh well, you live and learn) would have pointed out a small mistake and asked me to rectify it. Oh, and CCing the email to my client just made you look even sillier. Tragic. You know what: I can't be bothered. Look at the link page for hotels. In the England level, it says, 'By County (0) By Region (0)' How does that look to you?
Meta hutcheson Posted January 7, 2009 Meta Posted January 7, 2009 And people wonder why the volunteers think giving status reports on submittals is such a bad idea! Not only does it replicate information already available, it is so often received so ... gracelessly.
Meta windharp Posted January 7, 2009 Meta Posted January 7, 2009 I thought the idea of being a volunteer was to help people True. We spend our time helping people who are looking for sites. We chose not to help webmasters promote their sites. And yes, there is a difference between those two points of view :-) Curlie Meta/kMeta Editor windharp
