We only create categories when we have enough websites to list in such a new category.

I have no idea what "departments of health" might be.

Could you be looking for http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Medicine/Facilities/

or http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Medicine/Education/Medical_Schools/

or if you are refering to government bodies, they are listed in Regional like http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Government/Health/

I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.

I am refering to government bodies and ministry (+/- 200 Web Sites).

They are listed in Regional, but only in few countries.

Perhaps one category could be more suitable and helpful.

New categories like that are also only be created after internal discussion amongst editors. It's possible that someone reading here will like your idea enough to present it for discussion in our internal forums. However, if you really think that it would be a good move for the directory, then why not become an editor, and then you can start the discussion yourself. Since the category doesn't exist yet, you'd have to apply to a different category to start off with, but if/when the category was created, you'd be able to apply to edit there too.

Your local (city or town) health category would be a good place to start. Then the neighboring towns, then the state or provice, ... then the world, bwa-ha-ha!

I would be grateful, if you could explain your "bwa-ha-ha!"

Thank you for the exhortation, but, if "hutcheson" is a model of editor, I prefer my humble and honest simplicity.

The underlying fact is, each editor chooses his level of activity. His RANGE of activity is self-selected (subject to approval from meta-editors).

The appropriate way of dealing with that fact is: start small, and work up. If you're interested in a global health category, the logical first step is a local health category. Because, once you've established a reputation as an effective editor in smaller categories, the community will be eager to have your help on larger categories.

The "bwa-ha-ha" stage is not obligatory. There are other possible role models, and it's not obligatory that you choose a role model. I would suggest, though, that very few editors you WOULD want as a role model would, in their first introduction to a new community describe themselves as either "humble" or "honest", let alone "simple". That is, I grant, a subtle point -- if hardly a new one (Proverbs of Solomon, 27:2).

After "bwa-ha-ha!", thank you for the second lesson.

I appreciated!

Kind Regards,
