MarkC Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Hi guys, I finally got into the DMOZ directory around 2 months ago. I've just checked today though and it's no where to be seen. The site is Alliance Online - <url removed> ...and if I remember correctly it was placed in this category: http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Kitchen_and_Dining/ Thanks in advance for any information. Cheers, Mark
jimnoble Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 We don't discuss individual websites here. Listings are moved/removed for all sorts of reasons - all of them covered in our submission guidelines and editor guidelines.
MarkC Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 OK, thanks for the reply Jim. So do I need to re-submit?
jimnoble Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Well it's either in the process of being moved or it's unlistable. In either case, there's no need to suggest your website again.
globalnethoster Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 yep. things are getting strange. we know of business that used to be listed in this, then vanished. and they're up. i understood this to be a historical reference. whats up with that. and i have also heard that there are sites that google hasnt crawled in quite a while. whats up with that!
Meta pvgool Posted April 20, 2009 Meta Posted April 20, 2009 yep. things are getting strange. we know of business that used to be listed in this, then vanished. and they're up. i understood this to be a historical reference. whats up with that. Nothing strange. Sites get removed for several reasons - the site is not listable anymore (either the site changed or the DMOZ guidelines changed) - the site was not available for some time (it was moved out of view for the public and is waiting a new review) and i have also heard that there are sites that google hasnt crawled in quite a while. whats up with that! You will have to ask Google. This forum is only about DMOZ. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
The Old Sarge Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 ... i have also heard that there are sites that google hasnt crawled in quite a while. whats up with that! I once heard that the moon is made of green cheese ... but I didn't believe it. The Old Sarge War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
