Ryllis33 Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Hello, I am new to this and would really love to understand how to get a site listing moved from one category to a more relevant one? Falcon Motorcycles is currently listed under: Regional: North America: United States: California: Counties: Los Angeles: Business and Economy: Automotive I feel it would make much more sense to list it under: Business: Automotive: Motorcycles: Makes and Models: Retailers: Multiple Brand As it is a very specific business that sells multiple brand British motorcycles. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Right now it is listed with used car dealers and much less relevant businesses. Thanks, Ryllis33
jimnoble Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 No need to move it. Many websites are eligible for a Regional locality listing plus maybe a Topical listing. Simply additionally suggest your website to the Topical category, if you haven't done so already, and some editor will process it in time.

I may have entered it into the topical listing but I can't remember -- would it hurt to re-enter it now even if I have? I have read that it is not good to enter it twice and I really want to do the right/respectful thing. :upside: Thanks again for your time and advice. I miss England! Ryllis33
Ryllis33 Posted June 17, 2009 Author Posted June 17, 2009 p.s. If I did submit it to the topical listing, it wouldn't have been with as good a description as the one it was given in the regional listing.. so would it be good to re-submit with the better description any way?
Meta pvgool Posted June 17, 2009 Meta Posted June 17, 2009 Suggesting a site twice to the same category is not needed but it will do you no harm. The new suggestion will overwrite the previous one. I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
Ryllis33 Posted June 17, 2009 Author Posted June 17, 2009 overwriting That's great to know, thank you. WHen it overwrites it - will it putting back at the bottom of the queue again (and therefore take longer to be noticed), or will it overwrite it in the same placement as before? Best, ryllis33

It's not a first in first out queue, it's a random access pool. Editors on limited time in a category may well cherry pick the ones with the least hyped titles and descriptions first (as I do). That said, if an editor chooses to work the pool in suggestion date order, a resuggested website will be at the bottom of the list.
