Status Check on Adultbouncer Sites

Adultbouncer category hasn't been updated for ages. I remember someone on adultbouncer's forum getting to be the new editor, added a couple sites and seems to have quit. I have been trying for the past 4-5months to get 2 of my sites listed:

http://teenlove.adultbouncer.com

and

http://cumshotcenter.adultbouncer.com

I just wanted to know what is up? or what is up with the editor? I applied for his job, there is a lot of other good Adultbouncer sites that aren't even listed. Basically some of the most popular ones that have their own private content and so on.

EDIT: Category Link: http://dmoz.org/Adult/Image_Galleries/Movies/AVS/AdultBouncer/

Hi,

Unfortunately our AdultBouncer password expired quite some time ago, and they have not answered our requests for password renewal. Until AdultBouncer have renewed our password, we are unable to review and list any sites that use AdultBouncer AVS.

It may help if you mail the AVS yourself - you may have a contact address that we do not - they've certainly not been answering our mails.

Hope that helps.

Can I get an email or a contact that I can send them?

There are different contact details on their site for various problems. I was hoping that, as a webmaster, you may have a more direct route to them. Let me know if you have any luck.

I sent an email, but no reply yet. They give all of us webmasters passwords that give us access to all sites, which I would be willing to lend, but I don't know if they would want that :|

I mostly want to get some of my sites listed, and have been waiting for ages. It seems wierd that they havn't replied to your requests. Although they may have thought it was someone trying to get a free pass, who knows.

Thanks, but we need our own pass because many editors will be using the pass, and the AVS needs to be aware that the pass will be used in that way, otherwise they could end up disabling your pass.

The lack of contact from AB is most likely to be due to their automated system - I tried several avenues and received an automated reply. It's possible that the requests just got lost.

I've just received a password from AdultBouncer, so the reviewing process for sites using this AVS can now continue.

I submitted my site a few weeks ago to this category.

How long do you think it'll take now to get listed?

Thanks.

All three sites requesting a status check are waiting in a fairly long queue. I would estimate that it's going to be several months before the sites are listed, however I could be totally incorrect and they could be listed tomorrow. Please feel free to come and ask for a status check in a months time.

You recieved the password a couple weeks ago but there's been no changes to that category since. Do you need anything else?

Been a couple months now since this thread started. And many more before that that the category hasn't been updated. Is there any system in place that rotates a category editor out if a section has been idle for so long with so many sites waiting to get in?

Please remember all editors are volunteers.

Also.. if there is an editor of a category, this shouldn't stop other people from applying for that category. If you feel so inclined, please apply. :smirk:

You must be thinking an editor "owns" a category until he's traded away ... or a category owns an editor until it sells him to another slaveowner? ... No, I can't fathom what you're thinking. But it can't have anything at all to do with the ODP.

Our volunteers choose when they work, and how much, and where. Once permissions have been given in an area, basically we don't remove them unless they acted to harm it.

In practice, some editors bounce around a lot; others focus on one area for weeks, then switch to another one (perhaps almost never to return to that first area.) Some log in every day; some, once a month; some have seasonal variations in their available time. Whatever keeps their synapses running smoothly is all right with us.

I'm working in my hometown today, for the first time in over a year IIRC. Does it matter how long I've been absent if I'm doing something constructive now?

oh ok. I just had a misconception on how it all works. I thought that only one person owned a section at a time. And since the category hasn't been updated in atleast 6 months I was wondering if there was a system to shift another person in. But if others can apply, I'll do that right now. Thanks. =)
