miccharlys Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I have created my website 3 months a go and i haven't got any response from the dmoz directory. Is there any structure error or designing issues on my website. Please tell me what changes should i apply to this website in order to get listed
Meta gloria Posted October 6, 2009 Meta Posted October 6, 2009 Thank you for suggesting your site, but you may have misunderstood what we do. We aren't a listing service. We're a group of volunteers building a directory, and site suggestions are only one source of listings. At some point a volunteer will take a look at your suggestion, but we have no way of knowing when that will be. It could be anything from minutes to years. There is nothing else for you to do. Site suggestions don't expire, and resuggesting your site can eventually have negative consequences. And to clear up another implied myth, you won't receive email from ODP when someone takes a look at your site or lists it.
RZ Admin Elper Posted October 7, 2009 RZ Admin Posted October 7, 2009 I'll add that we are very tolerant of design issues and fairly tolerant of structural ones. Basically, if the reviewing editor can see/find the content, s/he should review the site based on that. If however the site is rendered inoperable by an error (ie. a database error in a shopping cart) it will usually be set aside for a reasonable period (ie several weeks/months), and only then deleted if not fixed. elper {moz}:curlie: All opinions expressed are my own, and do not necessarily represent the official point of view of the administration of either this forum or the directory.
happykaka Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 I have submitted my site for a few months but i can't find my site on DMOZ How should I do? my site is (URL removed) . Please help me. Thanks in advance!
Meta hutcheson Posted October 14, 2009 Meta Posted October 14, 2009 Suggesting a site doesn't get it listed. When you suggest a site, the suggestion will remain "pending" until the site has been reviewed -- perhaps once only, perhaps many times, however many times it takes to gain the full advantage. (This might mean listing the site once or more times, listing deeplinks, not listing the site at all, but listing some other site instead--whatever would most benefit surfers.) But we do not know, and cannot know, when those reviews will happen. Suggesting a site does NOT make it more important, or a higher priority, or an assigned task. It just guarantees the site won't be overlooked until it has been looked over.
