Updated url now new listing cross-linked with old

Can someone please tell me how to go about this...

 

At one time my business was involved in footwear and was listed under the appropriate name and category. Recently I requested that my category and name be changed and to advise that the footwear business (Big Star Sandy) was now inactive. As you will see the url has remained the same all along.

 

Well my listing was re-categorized under the correct name and category...

 

My current correct business and listing...

 

Open Directory Categories (1-1 of 1)

Business: Consumer Goods and Services: Clothing: Sports (1 match)

 

Open Directory Sites (1-1 of 1)

 

Kats Designs - Designers and manufacturers specializing in custom rhythmic suits, competition leotards and costumes.

-- <url removed> Business: Consumer Goods and Services: Clothing: Sports (1)

 

 

BUT the old one still exists many weeks later...

 

 

My former shoe division...

 

Big Star Sandy Category: Business > Consumer Goods and Services > ... > Footwear > Athletic

 

Canada. Manufactures gymnastic exercise apparel and accessories, crafted using high quality materials with an unqualified guarantee.

Okay now this is the problem...

 

My new and current listing is correct and I thought that when I requested an update they would create the new relavent one as they did, and remove the old one which is now redundant, which they didn't. Now this is causing all kinds of problems. For example, if you search Kats Designs through Google it is bringing up the description from the old listing.

 

Can someone please tell me how and a link if possible to where and how I can get this resolved?

 

You would not believe how much I would appreciate assistance with this.

Our search can be out of date. It's always best to look at the actual dmoz.org category (not a clone). As far as I can tell, the move request was implemented correctly a month ago.

 

Please double check the listing that you think is in error and use the category's update listing link if necessary.

 

We have no control over how Google (or any other downstream user) uses our data or their update schedules.

As you have said...in dmoz.org my listing was correctly updated and the old name no longer exists, however...

 

in the Google Directory, they both still co-exist in the wrong category and are cross linked to each other.

 

Is dmoz and Google's directory one of the same?

 

How do I correct this info in Google's Directory as I do not see a way to update my listing there?

No.

DMOZ is operated by AOL, and Google is, well, Google.

Presumably Google will correct it (by downloading a new version of the ODP data dump).

 

But Google does that when it suits Google, not when it suits me or you or AOL.

 

(which makes Google no different than any other site, I say, as I sit here carefully doing something other than waiting for five other large sites to post almost about 10 different book-length projects I've prepared.)

if dmoz is AOL and Google is of course Google, when I am on the main page of the Google directory and scroll down to the bottom and click 'Submit a Site', why does it go into dmoz?

That's the price of using the ODP directory: you have to provide "suggestion" links to dmoz.org. (That is what most honest users want: it's much more efficient to let the Open Directory Project pool the maintenance efforts for all copies of the directory.)

As hutcheson mentioned, it's the required attribution as stated in the Open Directory License. Google still has to follow the rules.
