hi,

i applied to be an editor of a category that has zero entries as of now and i received a reply with the following comment:

QUOTE:

Reviewer Comments:

Incomplete response to "Please give details, including URLs, of any sites that you own or have designed or promoted, either in full or in part. Also, mention whether you have contributed content to any site, and give URLs as appropriate".

We are happy to accept editors who are affiliated with websites, and, in fact, most of our editors have some affiliations. However, to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest, we ask that editors be completely upfront about those affiliations when they apply.

Note that we don't list related websites.

first, i would like you to know, how much i appreciate that the editor took the time to write this comment. i do have a question about the highlighted part.

as i made clear in my application, i would like to become an editor, in order to fill the obvious void for the category i applied in (zero entries as of now). i do not want to become and editor in order to just list my site (but as i said in my application, i would, simply because my site is relevant to that category).

does "Note that we don't list related websites" mean, that any site by any editor can not be listed?

if this is true, i would find that extremely counterproductive, since that would prevent me, from becoming an editor, since i do want to have my site listed.

a response would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

This is a hypothetical example.

If somebody owns paint.com, yellowpaint.com and redpaint.com, we'd consider them to be related and only list one of them. That a website has been spread across multiple domains doesn't make it eligible for multiple listings.
