Classroom Management Category Needed

The first necessity in effective teaching is to be able to create a classroom where every student has physical, emotional, and academic safety. This process is called Classroom Management. Often neglected in a teachers academic training, it is the first and most difficult hurdle faced by every first year teacher.

 

Folks, where is the category? Where are the sites? A search of dmoz turns up only 5 results all in different categories. As a teacher of inner city high school students for 6 years I can testify to the necessity of running a safe and interesting classroom.

 

How do I get a category for "Classroom Management" created under Education or some sub-category of Education? I just signed up as an editor, having just discovered dmoz.

As an editor, you can begin building the category in your bookmarks. When you think it's ready for prime time, you can ask for it to be moved into a publicly visible location.

 

There are several dozen editors ("editalls") with the ability to move categories like that.

How do I get a category for "Classroom Management" created under Education or some sub-category of Education?

The first thing we will need is a number (preferably 5 or more) websites that would fit in such a category. Should be possinle with Google showing us "Results 1 - 10 of about 12,600,000 for classroom managemen" and even "Results 1 - 10 of about 1,290,000 for "classroom management"". My first guess would be in Reference/Education/Educators

The second thing we will need is an editor willing to create the category and the list those websites. This could be you.
