ps2wiz Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 It has been a few weeks since my site has been listed in dmoz (which I'm thankful for). However when I search for it, no results are found. I can obviously view it in the respective category. Any thoughts?
Meta pvgool Posted April 19, 2010 Meta Posted April 19, 2010 see our FAQ : Why can't I find my site when I use ODP search? I will not answer PM or emails send to me. If you have anything to ask please use the forum.
ps2wiz Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 Okay, I see. But from any personal experience would you say that there is a delay before the site properly gets indexed into the search? Just as the FAQ states, I do type in "mydomain.com" however still no results are found. Thanks for your time.

jimnoble Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Our rudimentary search is primarily intended to help surfers and editors to find an appropriate category. It's not focused on checking whether or not mydomain.com is listed. Anyway, if surfers already know about mydomain.com, why would they be searching our directory for it ?

Worldrecordbass Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 It seems to me some of the people here are really quite rude when answering a basic question.

According to this page - http://www.dmoz.org/docs/en/add.html The search function is also intended to be used for finding out if your domain is listed or not. See Step 1 and 2.
