I have seen that google has started updating its database. How long does it take google to update its directory data? I see that it has not added the new websites present in Dmoz since early june till now.

Same question occuring every month or so, same answer:

DMOZ provides dumps of its database nearly every week. It's up to the users (like Google) how often they want do download the datafiles.

Google was dwnloading about once a month, but since times changed it looks like they are doing it by hand. So please don't ask ODP-editors what people at Google are doing. We cant influence it in any way. /images/icons/smile.gif

Ditto. We have nothing to do with Google (except for the fact that it's a great search engine /images/icons/wink.gif), they are just a company using the data we freely provide to any company, any person to use, within the licence agreement. DMOZ and Google may seem very similar, and even may seem like they are both owned by the same company, but the editors at the ODP edit for the ODP and the ODP only, and Google just displays the work. Also it should be noted that for a long while there were no updates posted and google was until quite recently using an old version of dmoz to power their directory. Thnakfully it looks like the DMOZ are back on track and google has recently updated to a new version of the directory. <img src="/images/icons/laugh.gif" alt="" />
