Guest elange25 Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 I have submitted my site (www.tennistraders.com) over three months ago, and still no response. I have also e-mailed category editors, and still no luck. Any idea on when the site will be listed? THanks in advance!
Meta nea Posted June 27, 2003 Meta Posted June 27, 2003 If you post a clickable link to the DMOZ category you submitted to, we can check the status of your submission <img src="/images/icons/grin.gif" alt="" /> However, the only thing we can tell you is whether the site is pending review — there is no way to tell when a particular site will be reviewed. Guest elange25 Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 I applied to http://www.dmoz.org/Shopping/Sports/Tennis/
brmehlman Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 It's awaiting review in that category, along with a rather large number of other sites. Feel free to check back here again if you haven't seen it listed in a few months. If you do so, please reuse this thread rather than starting another one.
Guest elange25 Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 It has still not been listed.....a month and a week later. Can anyone help me....I think it will greatly help our traffic! Thanks!
Alucard Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 The purpose of this forum is not to expedite listings, it is to enquire as their status. You have done what is necessary to get your site listed - you have made a submission. If you read around on this forum, you will notice that there is absolutely no certainty of how long it would take a site to get listed. I'm afraid you will have to be patient. In areas of the directory where there is little editor activity and a large number of submissions, it is not unusual for a listing to take well over a year to be reviewed. We don't like this situation either, but given the number of volunteer editors that we have and the time they have available and donate to the directory, it's all we can do. Now, as was mentioned before, if you'd like to come back in several months and enquire again, please feel free. Thanks.
Guest elange25 Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 Any update for my site? also, would it be smarter for me to submit to a different category? Would this help the process? Thanks in advance! Erik
brmehlman Posted July 30, 2003 Posted July 30, 2003 Is it the word "several" that you're having trouble with, or is it the word "months"? The category looks right, submitting to an inappropriate one will only slow things down by the amount of time it takes to get around to moving the submission to the correct category. If you haven't seen it listed within a few (at least two, preferably more) months (calendar months, not periods of four weeks) please feel free to check again.
